03.23Travel: Chawton, England
Over the weekend I was trying to think up some fun new things to blog about. I’ve noticed on the blogs that I enjoy reading that they tend to do different themed series. So I thought it would be fun to showcase some of my favorite images that I’ve taken on my travels…. city by city. First up Chawton, England. Chawton is a village and civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England. Chawton was the home of Jane Austen, and her house and museum are still there today. This is one of my favorite places in the whole wide world, and I look forward to journeying there again soon. As a huge Jane Austen fan I found visiting what was once her home to be extremely exciting. Her actual writing desk is there, which I couldn’t believe, and the grounds are truly enchanting. I think the thing that made that visit even more special was that I got to share it with my family, who are also avid Jane Austen fans. There is nothing like the English countryside, and it’s not surprising that it was the inspiration for some of the world’s most beautiful love stories.
Me looking like a tourist:)
This was Jane Austen’s REAL writing desk….amazing.
This room was her bedroom.
Jane was extremely close with her sister Cassandra, they were the best of friends….hmmm sounds like two sisters I know:)
(They were also a blond and a brunette)
I couldn’t get over the flowers in England, absolutely stunning!
These are the grounds of the B&B we stayed at, so lovely.
